Nassourdine Imavov Beefs With Fighting Nerds Ahead of UFC Paris

Things are heating up between Nassourdine Imavov and the entire Fighting Nerds team.

Imavov will take on Fighting Nerds member Caio Borralho in the main event at UFC Paris on Sept. 6 at the Accor Arena in Paris, France. Based out of Sao Paulo, Brazil, the Fighting Nerds have rapidly risen to stardom in the UFC represented by Borralho, Jean Silva, Carlos Prates and Mauricio Ruffy. The entire team was in attendance for UFC 317 on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Fighting Nerds raised a “F—k Imavov” chant while meeting fans in Vegas.

Tensions Rise Between UFC Paris Headliners

Imavov immediately responded, writing, “F—k Fighting Nerds,” along with an emoticon of glasses, symbolic of the Brazilian team.

While Borralho has been calling Imavov out for a while, “The Sniper” was originally planning to be the backup for the upcoming middleweight title tilt between Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 318 on Aug. 16 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. However, the champ said he wouldn’t fight Imavov if Chimaev pulled out. Imavov changed tune soon after and accepted Borralho’s callout, leading to an official announcement. 

Imavov is riding a four-fight winning streak and comes off a stoppage win over former champ Israel Adesanya. Meanwhile, Borralho is undefeated in six UFC outings and hasn’t lost since his lone pro defeat in 2015.
